Where The Wild Things Are (dir. Spike Jonze, screenplay Dave Eggers)

This is a movie for anyone who ever ran away from home as a child whether it entailed a night out in the park or a night out in your imagination. Somehow we always came home a little wiser, a little older and very hungry. It's for anyone who ever wanted to be King (or Queen) of the worlds inside their head. Dave Eggers' screenplay merges Sendak's book (he was a producer on the film so one expects it got his blessing) with Max's everyday life. A wonderful film for watching outdoors surrounded by nature at The Parklands, South Bank.
